Back in the Game: Veterans Play Wheelchair Basketball Thanks to EPAM Ukraine Support

The CBA Initiatives Center, in collaboration with EPAM Ukraine, organized a wheelchair basketball event for veterans. The competition took place at a sports complex in Kyiv.

Thanks to the partnership with EPAM Ukraine, the veteran department of the CBA Initiatives Center was able to purchase adaptive basketball wheelchairs. These chairs are lightweight, highly maneuverable, and tailored to the needs of players with various injuries and physical limitations. Adaptive sports are more than just physical exercise—they help veterans accept changes in their bodies and rediscover the joy of movement. For many, it is an opportunity to live comfortably and fully again.

“Events like this help develop adaptive sports in Ukraine. This means more people learn about the opportunity to train in comfortable conditions with professional coaches. As a result, veterans gain not only physical support but emotional support on their path to recovery,” says Taras Kovalik, Head of the Veteran Department at the CBA Initiatives Center.

We thank the EPAM Ukraine team for their trust and partnership. Together, we can achieve more.
