About the department

The Department's goal is to influence decision-making in order to strengthen Ukraine's national security and defense capabilities in the global dimension.

We cooperate with representatives of the military and political leadership, the government, the security and defense forces, international governmental and non-governmental organizations, and think tanks of partner countries.

In-depth study of the Russian Federation and the forms of its presence in the global dimension to neutralize the Russian threat to Ukraine and its international partners.

Influence on the architecture of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in wartime, interwar and peacetime.

Influence on changing norms and practices in the security and defense sector of Ukraine to strengthen its defense capabilities.

Collecting and summarizing relevant information from the tactical and operational-tactical levels in the troops in the interests of the organization and stakeholders.

Why are servicemen leaving the Armed Forces?

This research is focused on the issues due to which the Armed Forces of Ukraine lose qualified personnel. Qualitative and quantitative research methods have been used for this research. The qualitative research method included interviews with personnel in combat units and the military command & control (C2) bodies that are dealing with human resources matters.

How and why the Kremlin is holding "elections" in the occupied territories

The Kremlin is preparing to hold so-called elections in the occupied territories of Ukraine on Russia’s Single Election Day on 10 September 2023. The “elections”, which will be held in two dozen russian regions, are planned for all the occupied territories. The only difference is that in the Crimea, voters will have to “elect” a representative to the Russian State Duma and the Ternovska Municipal Council of Sevastopol.
