About the department

The analytical department seeks to strengthen Ukrainian national security and defense capability through research and advocacy.

We cooperate with political and military leaders, state institutions, security and defence forces, think tanks, non-state organisations and international partners in order build safer and more secure Ukraine.

Areas of work

Russian Studies

The in-depth study of Russia and its global presence with an aim to neutralize the Russian threat to Ukraine and its international partners.

Strategic Studies

Analysis of the strategic and operational environment, threat assessment and development of long-term solutions for national security and defence problems.

Human Capital Studies

The research of army’s institutions and its processes to facilitate changes and strengthen defense capabilities.

Combat Studies

Lessons learned from tactical and operational levels, accumulated to strengthen combat capabilities of Ukraine and its partners.

The Kingdom of Sweden's role in supporting Ukraine over the past decade has been both significant and transformative. Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2014, Sweden actively contributed to bolstering Ukraine's Armed Forces. Initially, this support was limited to training assistance. However, the onset of the full-scale invasion in 2022 marked a dramatic expansion in the scope of aid. Sweden began providing equipment, financial military assistance, technology, and lethal weaponry.
