The CBA Initiatives Center, in partnership with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, is launching the National Sitting Volleyball Championships for veterans and service members. The event will take place on July 5–6, 2025, in Kyiv. Admission is free and open to all—both civilians and military personnel—but prior registration is required.

The event will combine a two-day sitting volleyball competition with a variety of festival activities. On Saturday, July 5, preliminary matches will take place featuring teams from across Ukraine. On Sunday, July 6, the finalists will compete in the decisive matches. For guests who cannot attend in person, an online broadcast is planned.

Throughout the event, entertainment and relaxation zones will be available for guests, offering snacks, coffee, and opportunities to socialize. The program will include a lecture series on adaptive sports, as well as recovery and interactive zones with VR and PlayStation activities. A dedicated children’s area will feature games, workshops, and activities. Organizers have also made it possible for guests to try different types of adaptive sports firsthand.

This will be the second nationwide adaptive sports competition organized by the CBA Initiatives Center in partnership with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs. The first event—a wheelchair basketball tournament—left a strong impression on participants. One of them shared his experience:

*"Honestly, I didn’t expect basketball to captivate me this much. But I really loved it. Here you find support, new friends, and safe social interaction without needing to prove anything—you simply participate, laugh, and enjoy yourself.

Events like this are necessary. They create a space where you can be among your own people, in a calm environment, with familiar jokes and your own rhythm.

It’s more than just sport. It’s about life, curiosity, inspiration, and opportunities,"* said Oleksandr Batalov about his experience at the sports camp and competition.

For security reasons, the exact location will be shared with guests, partners, and the media one day prior to the event.
