Sports Camp: From Training to New Friendships
A sports camp is a five-day program for veterans where participants can try various adaptive sports and receive support from physical therapists and massage specialists. It’s also a chance to make friends, take a break from daily routines, and discover new opportunities. The camps are organized by the CBA Initiatives Center ahead of every nationwide adaptive sports competition.
Why You Should Join
The camp experience isn’t about setting records. It’s about movement, recovery, and feeling strong. Physical activity helps participants reconnect with their bodies, regain confidence, and improve mental well-being.
But sport isn’t the only thing on the schedule. The program also includes evening movie screenings, board games, fishing, and pottery. For some, it’s a chance to pick up a new hobby; for others, it’s an opportunity to relax and unplug from everyday life. A Community That Understands
The greatest value of the camp is its people. Veterans quickly find common ground, share their stories, and support one another. It’s an environment where participants can be themselves and move at their own pace — whether fully active or taking a personal pause.
Lasting Impact
A few days at the camp is a way to recharge physically and emotionally. Participants return home with new friendships, fresh ideas, and a renewed drive to keep moving forward. That’s why joining even once is worthwhile.
The camp is organized by the CBA Initiatives Center, which fully covers all expenses for participants.
