The Power of Movement: CBA Initiatives Center and the “Angels” Guardianship Service Hold Adaptive Training for Veterans
CBA Initiatives Center, in collaboration with the “Angels” guardianship service, organized adaptive training sessions in boccia and archery for veterans. The event took place at the Koncha-Zaspa sanatorium.
The “Angels” team supports service members throughout their treatment and rehabilitation — from the moment of injury to recovery and either returning to duty or discharge due to health reasons. Currently, the “Angels” care for soldiers from the Third Separate Assault Brigade and other units within the Azov movement.
Adaptive sports serve as a tool to help veterans regain confidence, accept their bodies after injuries or wounds, and experience the joy of movement. To facilitate this, the veterans’ department of CBA Initiatives Center organizes off-site training sessions in hospitals and rehabilitation centers across the country.
The purpose of these adaptive training sessions is not only to engage participants in physical activity or friendly competition. They also provide an opportunity to be part of a community of people with shared experiences. This sense of camaraderie fosters connection, offers support, and motivates veterans to participate in adaptive sports — positively impacting both their physical and mental health.
